I had an embarrassing mom moment today. I am breastfeeding and therefore, when I am working and away for extended periods of time I have to pump. This can be a major pain. I hate just sitting there pumping and have started pumping and driving. I know some may think this is dangerous... but I have a bra that allows me to do this hands-free! Just as safe as my u-connect right??? The worse thing that can happen is I get pulled over and have to explain what I am doing to the officer, or get in an accident and they find me with my boobs peeking out of the holes in the bra. Or....
Today I was sitting in the parking lot of the gym, just getting situated so that I could pump and drive. I always cover myself completely while doing this. So as I started to drive when I see a good friend of mine walking towards the gym. He see's me... on no, he is coming towards me! So I slouch over and roll my window to say a quick hello. But he comes right up to my car and starts talking. We hadn't seen each other in a while so I didn't want to be rude. I think... "awesome. He isn't noticing!" But then he starts commenting on how he likes my car and looks in at the interior and says how he likes it. Then his eyes lock on my pump in the passenger seat and it clicks that I am totally pumping! (he has 2 sisters with kids, so he knew what it was right away). So I say "Yeah, I am totally pumping!" He laughed and explained why he knew what I was doing, as he slowly started to back away. He called me the queen of multi tasking and let me go. Ugh.

It's always kind of fun to hear someone else's embarrassing pumping stories. As a two-time veteran I've had a few awkward moments myself and it's a relief to know I'm not alone!
lori- this made me laugh! i love it. life happens...right?
Yikes. So awkward, but a good story to tell!
That's bad!
hahaha....at least he somewhat understood what was going on. yikes!
That is really funny. The things we do for our kids...
I'm really impressed you can pump and drive. I never would have thought to do that! I can't believe your luck...at least he could laugh about it!! (as could you:))
That is so funny! I seriously couldn't quit laughing. How embarrasing but you can take it right! Oh the things we mothers do for our children. :)
That is totally awesome. In NY it was the norm to nurse in Sacrament with a cover, here not so much, however I didn't realize this until a few months home. When they read in our records to the ward you better bet I was nursing and stood up with my shield with pride while the entire ward turned around to take a good long look at the crazy nursing lady. You go girl, nursing is a commitment, especially if you are working as well!
(ps I also had to take off my entire dress once at church before I realized I had to have access from the front and wore a back sip dress so I sat on the toilet in my tights and garms and nursed while my dress was hanging from the hook...good times)
sip=zip :o)
ha ha! Thanks for making me smile today. That is hilarious
ha ha ha !!! this story is hilarious lori! i haven't seen photos of ur baby lately and i can't believe that he is already *8 months old! crazy!
