Deep Thoughts... What's the Meaning in a Name?

I was having a conversation with my in-laws tonight and began to relive a moment of "deep thoughts" I had when I was in high school. I recall spending 30 minutes in the shower... pondering about the meaning of my name. Why do they call me "Lori"? What does that really mean? Would my life be different if my name was Sue or Christi? Or what if I spelled it "Laurie" like people often times mistakenly do? Do people look at me and think "she looks like a Lori"? I stood there thinking about my name over and over... I was late to school.
Aren't words interesting? How is it that we all understand that words have certain meanings and yet interpret them so differently at times? And how is it that as a college graduate... I am able to butcher the English language on a daily basis.
Anyway... I decided to look up the meaning of my name and found it quite interesting. I have to say, I really like being "Lori"! Here is a link so you can check yours out as well :)

I wanted to post "Haws" meaning, but I wasn't sure which name he would prefer me to list... the one with the best description I suppose.
I decided to go with the one I call him by... I think it sounds pretty good :)

Good thoughts. I have often thought about my name when Bryan and I discuss names we potentially like for children, I think to myself, my parents LOVED my name, they probably talked about it while they drove in the car, just like I do know. Eager about what type of a person a "BreAnna" would be, at the time just a whimsical dream to them, as my own children and their potential names are now to me. Thanks for the link, here is my name info. Great Post!

Oh yes, and sorry for the typos, it was unintentional, although it fits nicely into the concepts of colleges grads butchering the language :o) I of course meant "now" not "know" whoops, poetic justice I guess.

it is so funny because I did this for grant first and it said what it meant, then I did it for my name and it said the EXACT same thing. I put in other people's names and they all said something different. isn't that weird? anyway...

Well I have to say it's a good thing you were named Lori cuz I think it fits perfectly. My name always has something to do with angels...I don't know how good of a match that is?! :)

Well... it could be referring to "Hells Angels". I could definitely see you and Ryan cruising around on Harley's! I wonder if they make a baby seat for motorcycles???
