6 months

I can't believe my sweet baby James is half way to being 1! I love this stage. He is so much fun and gets cuter (at least we think he does) every day.

Some things that are happening this past month:

Despite the craziness of the holidays, James is keeping a pretty good sleep schedule. Most days look like this:
wake around 700am
nap from 9am-11am
nap again from about 1245-230pm
short cat nap around 430pm.
Bed around 8pm
These 11 hour stretches at night are amazing! We are still doing a "dream feed" but I plan to drop that soon.
He will sometimes wake up half way through a nap, cry and then go back to sleep. I have had to learn that he does this so that I dont run to his rescue and get him up too early.
Other highlights:

• sitting up on his own for longer periods of time but still eventually topples over.
• rolls all over the place
• is starting to scoot on his tummy
• laughs when tickled or we do something he thinks is hilarious like knocking on the door. Who knows what he is thinking!
• Loves to play with his toes
• Sticks out his tongue and makes motor boat noises all the time.
• Grabs at anything he can while eating.
• starting to "stand" meaning he will straighten out his legs while you hold his hands.
• making more word sounds like ma ba da

Some not so fun things going on this month:

• Thrush! Not fun for mom or baby. We just found out about this yesterday even though I had a feeling it might be going on. 
• He also has a rash caused by the yeast. I am amazed he can still be a happy boy with these ailments.
• I thought he had started teething, but that seems to have passed with no teeth coming through. 

STATS:
16lbs 1 oz (almost 50th%)
27 inches (75th %)
and still 40th % for head.
