monsters

Lately when we have been putting James to bed he talks about monsters. Not sure where this came from. Over Christmas we watched the old Rudolf claymation movie where there is an abominable snow man, and I think that is where is started. So Haws thought we should have him watch Monsters Inc so he could see that Monsters are really nice :) Well, since then he talks about monsters almost every night. "Monsters not under my bed".  "Monsters are not in my room". In which I reply, "No honey, there are no monsters in your room/under your bed". And then he says in the funniest voice, "daddy kill all the monsters!". What the heck?? Where did that come from? How do you even know what the word kill means?? The first time I heard it, Haws was gone and it caught me off guard, so I laughed a little and said "yep, daddy did". What was I suppose to say? Haws can't remember if he ever said he killed the monsters. He remembers saying that he would take care of the monsters. Maybe James interpreted that in gangster speak as "I will kill them off for you!". Who knows... but every time he says it I chuckle a little, even though that may not be the most appropriate thing to do.
James loves sleeping with his "friends" and his "Ruby blanket" (a truck book or two may make it's way into the bed too). My friend Ruby made us this blanket for Christmas and for some reason James has grown attached to it. We love Ruby, so maybe that is why he loves it so much.
I love my sleeping children.

We took Heather to see that in the theater when she was three. Biggest mistake ever. She was terrified of movie theaters after that. Too big, too loud, and too much to be nervous about. Of course she's 13 now and just saw The Hobbit with her dad. It didn't last forever, so I'm glad to know we didn't do any permanent damage. :D
