I stopped nursing Calvin in Dec. He was done and I was done trying to force him, so my milk supply dropped and I gave up. At the beginning of Feb I noticed it had been some time since my last period. I didn't think too much of it, things aren't clockwork in the first few months. But then I had this thought... "I could be pregnant!?!?" We had always been actively trying in our past pregnancies. I never thought one would happen just by chance. We knew we wanted to have another baby, but just not so soon. But I took a test and it was positive! I told Haws by setting out the test on the bathroom counter. When he got up at 4am to get ready (he is a crazy early bird) it took him about 20 min to notice it. He kept saying "no way. No way" and then came into bed and gave me a hug. I think he was shocked and excited at the same time.
I was having round ligament type pain around 7 weeks which is way too early... so I called to see if it was normal and they had me come in for an ultrasound just to be on the safe side. That is when we saw the little guys heart beat. I went in a week later for my first appointment with my new doctor. He was great and I knew right away that I was going to like him. This was my first time having an male doctor with my pregnancies and I was really impressed by his laid back, easy to talk to, personality but also his knowledge and his way of doing extra things to make sure that mother and baby are taken care of.
This pregnancy was pretty much smooth sailing. I was really sick for the first 16 weeks and then things got better. Besides a period of low back pain and the usual aches and pains, I really felt good the 2nd half of the pregnancy. I got a little nauseous again towards the end of the pregnancy, and ended up in the hospital for fluids due to a bad stomach bug around 37 weeks. But that was the most eventful occurrence.
17 weeks and baby is growing!
20 weeks
We took a babymoon to Sun Valley, ID. My parents came and watched the kids and it was so fun to getaway.
Calvin loved to cuddle with his little bro
31 weeks
31 vs. 20 weeks with Brooke
We did a "Where the Wild things are" theme for Hanks room since he is joining a wild group!
Love this stencil I borrowed from my cousin Bre to make a wood look in the room
35 weeks
Calvin loves playing with babies and baby dolls... so we got him one to practice being a big brother.
I am really going to miss having the feeling of a baby move inside of my belly. Watching it is even cooler.
