James started Kindergarten! He really likes it so far... although he says that it is "the longest day ever!" Funny... because it's only 3 hours. Wait until 1st grade kiddo!
He already knows about 3 other kids in his class, which makes it nice for him that he already has friends. It is fun to hear him talk about the new kids he is meeting in his class. We have seen some classmates while we are out and about and it is fun to see him developing these new friendships. I have been able to volunteer once in his class and he seems like he is doing well. I really like his teacher... she is firm but fun!
The highlight for James about going to school is that he gets to ride the bus! He loves riding the bus because "You don't have to wear seat belts!" That kid is hilarious. He likes to live on the wild side :)
We are so lucky that we have awesome neighbors with older kids. My friend's boys that live next door have been so good to James. Some days, when I can't get out of the house on time, they will walk with James to the bus stop, which is only a block away. They make sure he has someone to sit next to on the bus and that he gets to the Kindergarten area safely. James informed me this week that he doesn't need anyone to walk him to the kindergarten area anymore. Such a big kid!
I hope he continues to enjoy school and to make good friends. He has so much enthusiasm. I pray for him everyday he is away that he will make good choices and be kind to others.
