Hunger Games

Our 2nd book in our book group this year was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I absolutely loved this book!!! I can't stop thinking about it! We meet last night to discuss the book and had so much fun! Sara Walk hosted and had us all bring breads that represented our "districts"(a low-carb nightmare!). I made gluten free bread so I would have something I could eat and it actually turned out great! I bought Pamela's bread mix, which made it super easy. We spent two hours talking about the characters, their love interests (right now, I still have to side with Peeta!) , the moral dilemmas that they faced, how the society influenced their views and interpretations of situations, the loss of humanity within that society and so much more. There is just so much to this book! I was never bored while reading it. I think everyone would love it. It makes you think and I like books that expand your mind.
I can not wait for the second book to come out in Sept.

The end result of my first GF bread baking experience. It was yummy :)

Seriously i think we have the best group of girls in our book club! I love each one of them (especially you lori).

Last night was so much fun... I had been looking forward to the meeting since i started the book a month ago. I LOVED it. I agree with you 100% about everything.... the book was so interesting and intriguing. It really makes us look into our own lives and see how much opportunities and events shape us into who we become.

I don't know who i'm rooting for in the "love" department... i like both gil and peeta!

I can't wait till the next book comes out!!!!

Well YOU have a blog!! So fun, I'm adding you to my blog roll as we speak:) Yes, you should've stayed longer on Friday- Kelly needed a relief player for rockband, was a little tired. We DO need to get together again soon, I feel like our funny conversations were cut short:)
