This big guy is 21 months! I say big because now that their is a baby around, James seems so much bigger! But he is still my Baby James and I have to remember although he is officially a toddler, he is still a baby in a lot of ways.
This of course has been a big one for James, with lots of changes. He has become a big brother and I have to say he is a very good one. I haven't seen a lot of jealousy or aggression towards Davis yet. He loves his baby brother. The first thing he does when he wakes up in the morning or from naps is he looks for the baby. When he finds him he is so excited saying "baby! baby!" Recently he woke up from his nap right when I had put Davis down and I didn't want him to go into his room and wake him up. Oh my goodness... full on tantrum! He was so upset that I wouldn't let him go in Davis' room. It took him a good 30 minutes to recover from that incident. Note taken for next time.
We had a big break through this week with James! While leaving a friends house where he had been playing with a motorcycle and truck I told James we had to go and he needed to give the toys back to his friend. Let me just say that James is not the best at sharing. He thinks everything belongs to him and is pretty possessive. But to my surprise, he handed the toy over to his friend!!! I was so excited and he could tell he had done something right. The next day he even shared his beloved trash truck book with Davis. I didn't even prompt him to! Maybe we are turning a new leaf? We will keep working on it.
As far as stats go... I have no idea where he is at! He doesn't see the doc for another 3 months. I am guessing he is still in the 25lb range. He can still wear 12-18 months pants, but wears 18-24 month and 2T tops. Thanks to the Davis genes of long torsos and short legs. Not sure where he gets that tiny waist from, but I am envious of his abs.
He is a climber. The other day he built his own little stair case out of boxes so that he could climb up and reach the candy dish on the piano! He loves to go to the park and run around. Spinning in circles and walking backwards are activities he thinks are so funny. He also does this thing called the creep where he slouches and throws his hands behind him while running around making animal noises. It is pretty entertaining and I have no idea where he got it from. He loves trucks, trains, cars, blocks, puzzles and anything to do with the trash can or trash man. He is total boy. He hates stopping what he is doing for a diaper change or leaving anywhere that he is having fun. He has figured out when mom is nursing I am not as quick to discipline. This leads him to believe he can get away with things, and sometimes he succeeds.
James likes to get out and play and I am so grateful for those family members and friends who have taken him places or had him over so that he can have fun and I can relax a little. Taking care of a busy toddler and a newborn at the same time can start to wear on a person... so thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Playing with his cousins Monte and Tanner. He loves going over to his cousin's house. Whenever I tell him we are going to either Aunt Brooke's or Aunt Kori's he gets all excited. And when we get on the freeway going north... he says "Nana?" Crazy how he already associates going certain directions with places/people.
His Angels hat from Nana that has already disappeared. We are still looking... he was pretty excited about it.

What a good little brother!! I am envious becaue Maggie was NOT that way with Henry (she still has a hard time with him at times). I love that he goes looking for him when he gets up in the morning and after naps. So cute!! I'm glad you have lots of family around to help out and for playtime. Love all the pictures!
