Getting Ready for Christmas

I have been slacking with the blog. It has been hard to find time to sit and write while trying to get ready for the holidays. This is our first Christmas as a married couple and it has been fun decorating the apt and getting our first tree... a real one of course! Since not many people come over to see the place, I thought I could at least share it with you on here :)

My mom gave all of us "kids" a nativity set that she bought on my parents trip to Spain with my brother Brad and his wife, Kori. I love it!
This is our little tree. It is hard to see the decorations... most are my old ornaments from growing up. We hope to add onto our collection through the years.

I decided this was the year I was going to try to make some of my mom's homemade candy. I made almond rocha, peanut clusters and peppermint bark. It wasn't that hard to make thanks to the guidance of my mother... thanks mom!

One of our attempts to take a Christmas picture. None of these seemed right so we had to go with the one underneath... when we have kids, we will send out a cuter picture :)

Haws came up with the idea, "Hope your holidays are a blast!" I thought it was pretty funny, so the dilemma of the Christmas card photo ended there.

Lori, Cute tree and decorations! I hope Haws didn't eat all your candy before you could get it delivered! Love, Mom

Your home looks so cute! You did a great job decorating. It's a lot of work, but a lot of fun. Your candy looks perfect. Merry Christmas!
